This cold begets creativity.
In hot drinks, that is.
Sometimes when I’m running toward home with icicles on my eyebrows (really!), the only thing that gets me there are thoughts of a hot coffee or tea.
Today I came up with vanilla almond chai, topped with frothy milk. It’s been a while since I drank that chai from the carton, but I’d place bets this drink is at least as good, if not better.
VANILLA ALMOND CHAI
2 bags chai tea (I like Stash)
3 cups water
6 oz. milk
1/2t vanilla
1t stevia
3 drops almond extract
dash cinnamon
Brew the tea for a long time, so it’s fairly hot. Heat the milk in a pot or microwave. Add milk, vanilla, stevia, almond and cinnamon to a blender and blend a few minutes until frothy. Stir the milk mixture into the tea and serve.
Ok, so this looks amazing. Do you think it could be made without the blending?
sure. you just won’t have the froth
